Positive Self Talk is a powerful tool. Use it wisely!

It's widely agreed amongst the many experts on self improvement that positive self talk, or the power of positive thinking, is key to your self improvement plan.

It's important to remember that it is the postive mental attitude that gets some to the top, and the negative mental attitude that leads others to the bottom. Which one do you have?

How you use the power of positive self talk is dependent on your goals and dreams. Everybody does things differently, but one major contributor to self improvement is using affirmations. It sparks great interest and evokes many questions on whether they work or not, and how to use to great advantage.

Lists of affirmations and their uses are so topical within the category of self improvement, why not share your thoughts on whether they work or not, and which ones you use to "get you out of bed in the morning"!

One questions I always find myself asking is "Why are we never taught positive self talk at school/college?" It would make SUCH a huge difference to our attitude as we grow up and move into the work place. Having a positive attitude at work is also vitally important.

This is such a POWERFUL tool that you have, and costs nothing, but at the same time can change your life.

Some people naturally use it, others stop and start, and probably the majority of people never use it because they don't understand the power of it.

How do I use the power of positive self talk?

I give you one simple, easy to use tip on positive self talk here. Used daily, it will change your thinking and lead you to life success.

Do not underestimate the power of the negative mental attitude - we all have it, but you now need to learn to overpower it.

A list of affirmations, again used daily, has been widely proven to great enhance your positive mental attitude. Have your say on what you think about positive affirmations.

"YOU ARE WHAT YOU THINK" - Napolean Hill

Napolean Hill's famous Think And Grow Rich book is littered with information you just want to soak up and use.  This is one of the "greats" in Self Improvement books.

POSITIVE SELF TALK ACTION STEPS

You must now decide to act on and change your thinking - it starts with you. Just as it does when you build self confidence.

1. Write down what you want (start with little things as this needs to work. If you start with big unrealistic goals, you will become despondent - it happened to me first time!) Here's an example "I want to get up 20 minutes earlier in the morning" - well OK, not a great example but hopefully will get you thinking.

2. Now you have got to think positively about what it is you have written. I hope it's small so you can easily achieve it. So think "I love getting up earlier, or What a great day to get up 20 minutes earlier..." But the key here is to self talk positively about your goal.

3. Next you will need a plan of action as to how you are going to achieve this. The reason being that maintaining a positive attitude is very important on a day to day basis,  but that's another topic in itself, but my example is probably fairly easy - ALTER THE ALARM CLOCK!

4. If you come across problems during the process of achieving your goal, turn your positive self talk on, eliminate the negative - for example, turn your thinking around - instead of thinking "I hate getting up early", think, wow, I can achieve so much more by getting up earlier". See the difference?

5. MOST IMPORTANT OF ALL, KEEP ALL SELF TALK IN THE POSITIVE - I WILL, I CAN, I KNOW I WILL, I AM DOING..., I AM IN THE PROCESS OF ACHIEVING...

Start with these little tips, and they will grow into huge successful positives in your life.
